What it is: A 5-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (BA LLB) program combining arts and law with an honors focus on legal research.

Focus: Legal education with foundational knowledge in arts, social sciences, and core law subjects (e.g., Constitutional Law, Contract Law).

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with at least 45% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST candidates)
OR
• Appearing for 10+2 examination in March/April 2025, with proof of passing required at admission time.

2. Postgraduate (PG) Programs - 1-Year LLM

What it is: A 1-year Master of Laws (LLM) program for advanced legal studies and specialization.

Focus: In-depth study of legal theories, research, and specialized law fields, preparing students for academia or high-level legal practice.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• LLB degree or equivalent from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)

What it is: A 1-year specialized LLM program focusing on intellectual property law and management.

Focus: IP law combined with management skills for legal practice in IP industries.

• LLB degree or equivalent from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)

4. Postgraduate (PG) Programs - 1-Year MA in IP Law and Management (Joint Masters)

What it is: A 1-year master’s program blending intellectual property law with management studies.

Focus: IP law and management principles for non-law graduates or interdisciplinary careers.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates)

5. Doctoral (PhD) Program - PhD in Law

What it is: A research-based doctoral program in legal studies.

Focus: Advanced legal research, thesis writing, and contribution to legal scholarship.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

• LLB or LLM degree from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India with at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST candidates)
OR
• Candidates with a valid Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or foreign nationals are exempted from the entrance test but must meet academic criteria.

Notes

• Exam Dates: The AILET 2025 exam was conducted on December 8, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in offline mode at 35+ centers across India.
• Eligibility: Candidates must be Indian nationals (foreign nationals/OCI/PIO are exempted from the exam but apply separately). No upper age limit. UG requires 45% in 10+2 (40% for SC/ST), PG requires 50% in LLB (45% for SC/ST), and PhD requires 55% in LLB/LLM (50% for SC/ST).
• Exam Pattern: UG has 150 MCQs (English Language: 50, Current Affairs & GK: 30, Logical Reasoning: 70) for 150 marks, 120 minutes, with 0.25 marks deducted for wrong answers. LLM has 100 MCQs from law branches, 120 minutes, with 0.25 marks deducted. PhD has 100 MCQs (50 Research Methodology, 50 Law), 120 minutes, with 0.25 marks deducted.
• Application: Registration was from August 1 to November 18, 2024, on nationallawuniversitydelhi.in. Fee: INR 3,500 (General/OBC), INR 1,500 (SC/ST/PWD), BPL SC/ST exempted.
• Counseling: Began December 13, 2024, with four rounds; third merit list expected May 2025 if seats remain. Total seats: 123 (BA LLB), 81 (LLM), with foreign national quotas.
• Participating Institution: Only NLU Delhi, with a reputation for high placement packages (average 18 LPA for BA LLB).
